An Inspiration for Young minds – Sarath Babu
The person one who living as true icon for young entrepreneur who is none other than Mr.Sarath Babu. He is not only an entrepreneur, also social worker, young politician.
Sarathbabu was born in an area located at Madipakkam, a suburb of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His mother also did various other odd-jobs like making idli, which Sarathbabu used to sell before going to school every day. Sarathbabu often quotes his mother being the source of his inspiration.
Sarath excelled his schooling from Kings Matriculation Higher secondary school in the same locationand secured admission at the prestigious Birla Institute of Technology and Science (Pilani) with the help of the loans from his relatives and friends. After completing his graduation, he worked for three years with Polaris Software Lab. to repay his debts. Subsequently, he got admission to one of India’s most prestigious management institutions, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
After completing his management education, Sarathbabu decided to become an entrepreneur with the aim of providing employment to as many people as possible. In 2006, he started his venture “Food King Catering Services Private Limited” with a capital of Rs 2000 to cater to banks, software companies and educational institutions. It is now located in 6 locations around India with a turnover of 8 crore. The first unit of FoodKing was opened by Mr. Narayana Murthy, founder of Infosys
His vision to make India a Hunger free nation. The reason for his vision is he also faced many struggles during his earlier life. Hence he started his own company even though many MNCs offered him a huge package. He refused all the offers because of his vision.
He has been actively motivating young people across the country with positiveness of his story and involved in various social activities like adopting education of needy meritorious students.In 2010,he started the ‘Hunger Free India’ foundation, an initiative to free India of hunger in 20 years.He called upon everyone to observe 10 October a”Hunger Free Day”
He decided to take part in active politics with a mission to be a part of a cleaner system. He contested as an independent candidate from the South Chennai constituency during the Lok Sabha Polls 2009. Although he did not win, he secured over 15,000 votes.In 2010, he joined in Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), a regional political party, but quit the party later when his ideology didn’t match with the party, in the 2011 Tamil Nadu assembly elections,he contested again as an Independent candidate from the Velachery constituency
This is a true inspiration for youngsters those who want to take part, in active politics in Tamil Nadu. We hope that his vision and political dreams come true. His impact may create a valuable change in forthcoming Assembly Elections 2016.
