COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, GUINDY– Quality of Education at its best!
The College of Engineering Guindy is one of the oldest Engineering Colleges in India. It is one of the constituent colleges under Anna University Chennai. The constituent colleges of Anna University Chennai are:
- College of Engineering, Guindy
- Madras Institute of Technology at Chrompet
- Alagappa College of Technology at Guindy
- School of Architecture and Planning at Guindy
The College of Engineering (CEG) was first established as a survey school, then it was modified into a Civil Engineering School in 1858. It was later then known as College of Engineering in 1859, with the addition of Mechanical Engineering.
Today’s College of Engineering offers a wide range of courses under various departments. It offers UG courses in Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, Manufacturing and Printing. It also offers many PG courses like M.E, M.S etc. and also Ph.d and research programmes.
The College has wide area and it is well equipped infrastructure. It is ranked as one among the top fifty Government Colleges in India. Not only does it excel in Academics, it is also well known for its cultural festivals like Techofes and Kurukshetra.
The College has exclusive number of hostels with proper dining facilities, of which five hostels are for women.
Thus, the College is very much instrumental in bringing the best out of the students and promotes their knowledge for the welfare of the country.
