Diwali Festival of lights and sweets
Diwali is the brightest day with colorful showering of lights, blessing from elder people. It is celebrated to depict the victory of good over evil( dharmamae jeikum).. during my childhood days my grand ma used to apply hot gingelly oil with shikakai paste on our heads…. we family members take bath inhot water wear new outfit and do all prayers to god lakshmi (godess of wealth)…. Mean while Attukal paya and Hot soft idly will be prepared in kitchen though we all pray god our mind will be full of mouth watering recipe prepared in kitchen…. On Diwali, people wear new clothes, light up deepams, After puja, people light up crackers and exchange gifts and sweets between family members and close friends. Diwali symbolizes the victory of Lord Krishna over Narakasura. There are several stories for diwali…..

There was a daemon named Narakasura tortured people by crushing their houses destroying their paddy fields and etc…. people in the town prayed lord Krishna and performed pujas and rituals and asked Krishna to defeat narakasura….. lord Krishna defeated and killed narakasura…. Then people celebrated death of narakasura with crackers and sparklers….
After 14 years of sage life Lord Rama Sita Lakshamana returning to ayodhya…
King of lanka kidnapped devi Sita from the jungle ….. after the war Rama relieved Sita from Lankaeshwaran custody….. on returnin to ayodhya people of ayodhya decorated their home with flowers to celebrate the arrival of Lord Rama along with wife devi Sita and brother Lakshamana
