Virat Kohli, a fantabulous player in the Indian Cricket team was born on November 5th 1988 in Delhi. He belongs to a Punjabi family, he had 2 silblings and Prem Kohli & Saroj Kohli are his parents. His interest towards Cricket started at the age of 3, which later became his passion and profession. He was trained in ‘West Delhi Cricket  Academy’ under the guidance of ‘RajKumar Sharma’. Though he had much interest in sports, he was also good at academics. Kohli’s first match was ‘Polly Umrigar Trophy’ in 2002, he played for Delhi under-15 team. As he was the leading  run getter, he was made the captain for the next ‘Polly Umrigar Trophy’. He was also selected for ‘Vijay Merchant Trophy’ and successfully played for two consecutive years.

Kohli was selected in the India Under-19 team, in 2006, which was a win for the team. By seeing his performances and passion towards Cricket, coach Lalchand Rajput was impressed. While his team played against Karnataka, his father died. Still, he went on to score 90 runs and later he went to attend the funeral. He started chasing his father’s dream and he dint get fed up. For all his efforts and interest towards the sport, he Captained the Indian team at 2008 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He was also selected by Royal Challengers Bangalore team for Indian Premier League. In 2008, he was awarded with the ‘Border-Gavaskar Scholarship’. In July 2008, he was included in India’s 30 man probable squad for ICC Champions Trophy and in August 2008 for the Indian ODI squad. He has made many debut scores in his career and he is the current captain for the Indian Test Cricket Team and Vice-captain in the limited over formats. Let’s all wish Virat a very Happy Birthday !!
