Trial inspection conducted by the Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) between Alandur and Airport with the usage of self-propelled Overhead Maintenance Vehicle (OME).Railway line is stretched from Saidapet-Alandur-Airport to Washermanpet-Airport corridor.

The inspection comprise a checklist of inspection of the track and dimension. electrical traction installation is in process .Railway Trail runs using rolling locomotives and it is expected to commence within a month.
Inspection take care of the signal.behaviour electrical traction track oscillation and functioning of trains along the route and sattions.CMRL plans to progress this year.

Recently there was maintainance check on march 1 to march 4 between the Airport and Alandur stations to check the track alignment. The CMRL team used a self propelled vehicle manufactured by BEML which is similar to Chennai’s Alstom metro trains checked any obstacles raised in the track to make sure nothing bad should happen similar to the issue in jaipur

Railway track stretch is from KoyamTrial inspection conducted by The Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) between Alandur and Airport bedu to Nehru Park (8 km) and Alandur to St. Thomas Mount (1.5 km) is about to start their operations there is a plan to stretch 17.5 km of metro routes to the existing 10 km route between Koyambedu and Alandur.
